Add YouTube Videos For Your Pet

We are excited to announce that now you can upload videos to YouTube and add them to your pet’s page on PetOwnr via the Edit Pet page. You can also view other pet videos.

Some more updates.

Today we unveiled a 2 level navigation system that will hopefully make the site easier to navigate and use. We also added a better messages section. Also, stories can now be marked as about a certain pet. A few aesthetic tweaks were applied throughout the site.

Shortly, we will be launching multiple picture uploads for each pet, and a way to easily embed YouTube videos of your pet on your pet’s page.

After that update is complete, we will finish up the FAQ and screencasts section to answer any questions you have about the updated site. Meanwhile, you can still contact us from the home page.

New Server: MediaTemple (gs)

We just upgraded our hosting from Dreamhost to MediaTemple’s Grid Server hosting. Using Pingdom, we have measured (on average) a 36% increase in load times. The upgrade went smoothly and everything seems to be functioning the same.

First Round of Updates and Bugfixes

  • Loading problem fixed for Smoothbox.
  • Ownr list display errors fixed.
  • Support for spaces and symbols in names and titles added.
  • Verification is easier and instructions are more verbose.
  • IE7 display bugfixes.
  • Post button in forums is hidden if you are not logged in.
  • Text added to the add a pet page, so the default type of pet is not a bird.
  • Avatar replacement and story submitted updates.
Thanks to our beta testers that helped us discover these small problems.
